Tom Kurtz is licensed by the State of Colorado as a Marriage and Family Therapist. He has worked as a professional in the mental health field since 1988 and currently as a therapist in private practice since 1993. He is a charter member of The American Association of Christian Counselors and a clinical member of The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers. He holds credentials in Marriage Enrichment Education, Critical Incident Stress Management (Crisis Response), and is approved by the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board as a Full Operating Level Treatment Provider and Evaluator for both juvenile and adult offenders. His professional interests are in two specialty areas: Christian Counseling for individual guidance and couples (marriage counseling); and sex offense specific problem areas (SOTP)including all paraphilias which includes sex addiction. Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Literature from Northwest College, Kirkland, WA. He also has a Master of Arts degree in Psychology (emphasizing Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling) from Chapman University, Orange, CA. In addition to His formal education he maintains at least of 25 continuing education units annually through professional training seminars and conferences to stay current and up-to-date in his field.
